Gloria Hays was a founder and a spiritual and fiscal supporter from the beginning. Though she was in her eighties when PET FRIENDS was founded, she did something of everything during the first few years. She helped at bake sales, distributed and collected donation jars, worked pet faires, served on the board, etc., etc. She moved to Menlo Park after a while but continued her strong interest and financial support. After some while, she relocated to a retirement community in Pacific Grove from where she increased her interest and support of PET FRIENDS. She was recently honored at PET FRIENDS Tenth Anniversary Founders Day. She died from a stroke during the past Memorial Day holiday period. PET FRIENDS has lost a friend. |
