M
rroww,
Top Cat here. It's that time of year again....yes, kitten season.
It seems to be raining kittens. This is a very difficult time for us. We are very
busy feeding kittens, cleaning kittens, driving kittens to the vet to be checked,
driving kittens to the vet to be spayed and neutered.
Raising tiny kittens takes a lot of time. One of our volunteers took 4 kittens home to
bottle feed. These
kittens were two days old when she got them. That means feeding them every 3 hours day
and night. After a week she was able to skip one of the night time feedings and get a
little extra sleep.
With 4 kittens, it took her about 30 minutes to feed, stimulate them (2 day old kittens
don't use litter boxes, they are not even developed enough to be able to eliminate
waste unless they are stimulated) then clean them up. That's 30 minutes every 3 hours.
By the time the kittens were 3 weeks old, she spent 77 taking care of kittens!
Then there is the
expense of the formula, the doctor visits, the shots, the cost of spay and neuter.
Folks, this is the time of year we could really use your help.
Any donation you
can send will be greatly appreciated.
Mrroww,
